Hostal Santo Domingo de Silos

Bus stop at the corner, brightness and warm lighting of the hotel, staff trying their best to understand you and solve your problems even when they don't speak English, nice and cozy room, a desk by the window, blanket in the closet, private bathroom with clean towels, water pressure in the shower, housekeeping, hotel restaurant, Sad Hill filming set in km's away, Monastery nearby has chanting sessions.

We really like the Hotel and the parking is easy around the back of the Hotel. Staff are lovely. The whole setup works well and location is spot on.

The town of Santo Domingo de Silos is not all that big. This lodging is directly across the street for the church and cloisters which many people come to town to see. The building is probably modern but constructed to look older... and it fits in nicely with the general ambience of the town. There is a parking garage nearby which I wound up using (but I don't know if that was necessary as there were not any "crowds" during my stay") Room was clean and quiet and breakfast area resembles an old tavern.

The hostal was good, very clean. Bedroom and bathroom were a good size. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. Dinner was also good, very simple. I didn’t stay for Breakfast. The hotel team were friendly enough, but may have been better if I spoke Spanish.

This is a hotel in everything but name- very well appointed. Ideal for touring cyclists with secure storage. Facilities excellent
